My Story

Hi there!

My name is Libby Lou, and I’m a writer, blogger, and public speaker. I have a passion for speaking about chronic and mental illness, as those are things I have struggled with for a large portion of my life. As a result of my worsening health, I was unable to finish college, but have taken to Instagram to help others in situations like me.

I grew up riding horses and adore animals. My current pets are a cat, Ruth (named after Babe Ruth), and a fish, Prince of Hearts (named after Jacks from Caraval by Stephanie Garber). Additionally, I love grammar, especially the Oxford comma, em dashes, and semi-colons. My most proudest achievement, perhaps, is the Most Active Follower award from an 80s Music Memes page on Facebook.

What I blog about

Writing

Writing is my first love in life, and I aim to pursue it as a career. I write YA/MG Science Fantasy, and as a result, the writing tips I give on this page are geared towards writers of similar genres.

Chronic Illness

I mentioned it above, but I have several chronic and mental illnesses that impact my day-to-day life. As a result, I do write about my life with chronic illness, about my struggles, and occasionally offer tricks to living with incurable illnesses.

Book Reviews

It’s probably no surprise, given I love to write, that I also enjoy reading. My New Year’s resolution was to start writing book reviews, so here I am! Again, I primarily read YA (fantasy, contemporary, anything, really).

Faith

I was raised in a faithful household, and actually studied Theology in college, along with Koine Greek. I have a love for God, language, and stories, and very much enjoy this topic.
